FORT WAYNE — The Fort Wayne TinCaps begin defense of their 2009 MidWest League title in 38 days.

The defending champs will open the season April 8 against Burlington. Fans will get treated to postgame fireworks as well.

The TinCaps finished 49-21 last season — their first since changing the team name from the Wizards and opening Parkview Field downtown.

Fort Wayne also will host this season's MidWest League all-star game and festivities.
